1 ~ Anxious about making the call?
It can seem daunting to make that initial call, you may feel awkward about seeking help. HOWEVER, please be assured that all enquiries will be treated very sensitively, with clarity and in a way that prioritises your freedom of choice.
2 ~ Is therapy safe?
At the heart of my practice is a constant monitoring of how the therapy is being received. Through rigorous training and a commitment to my own personal therapy and supervision, I am well supported in delivering a measured model that accounts for each individual's situation. The ethical codes to which I subscribe are carefully monitored by the UKCP and Metanoia [the organisation that trained me] and my therapeutic ethos is " Above all do no harm"
3 ~ Is this therapist right for me?:
I actively encourage people to keep considering their choices and to use their voice ~ My humanistic background means I strongly value equality in the relationship.
4 ~ Confidentiality and GDPR
Trust is the cornerstone of effective therapy. I treat confidentiality very seriously and will outline my legal obligations, responsibilities and commitments during our initial contact to ensure a full understanding around this issue. NB: a coded system is used with regard to essential notes used for record keeping; issues discussed in supervision prioritise client anonymity. When therapy ends, emails and phone numbers are removed from electronic media and records of attendance are kept for the statutory time prior to erasure. Client details can only be released following a formal process by the judiciary whereupon all relevant parties are first informed.
